STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS
The watertight (floodtight)/gastight angle frame floor access door shall be Model FPS as manufactured by U.S.F. Fabrication, Inc. with the size being specified on the plans.
Cover: 1/4-inch (6.4mm) aluminum diamond plate cover reinforced for 625 psf (3051 kg/m2) live load—capable of holding 10 feet (3m) of head water. Equipped with lifting handle and 316 stainless steel hold-open arm with red vinyl grip that automatically keeps the cover in its open/upright position.
Frame: 3/8-inch (10mm) aluminum angle has U-shaped neoprene gasket riveted on vertical frame leg; and, the horizontal leg has 9/16-inch (14mm) diameter mounting holes for bolting to surface of top slab (others responsible for providing effective seal between frame and the concrete). Equipped with 316 stainless steel pressure locks for compressing the cover against the U-shaped gasket to prevent leaking.
Hardware: 316 stainless steel pins hold aluminum lugs welded to frame and cover.
Security: Aluminum staple for user supplied padlock.
Finish: Aluminum cover and frame have mill finish.
Installation: Installation shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Warranty: Manufacturer shall guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten years.
