Description:
The
Hatch Safety Net
is made of high strength polyester netting.
Its hardware components are made of 316
stainless steel to withstand corrosive wastewater
environments.
Not only is it the most economical fall
though prevention alternative, but it provides the
greatest accessibility and visibility into hatch
openings.
Features: The
lightweight
Hatch Safety Net
is designed to be permanently installed and easily
retractable in floor and roof openings where the
risk of fall through is present.
When it is closed, the net system allows
people to move freely around confined space opening
without fear of falling into the opening. Also, the
Hatch Safety Net
allows visibility for inspections and accessibility
for limited maintenance and float adjustments.
When entry/exit is required, the net can be
easily unhooked on all but one side of the opening
to facilitate full access to the confined space.
Retrofit:
The economical
Hatch Safety Net
is easily retrofitted into existing openings.
Its unique
design can be manufactured to fit the custom
dimensions of almost any type of floor access hatch,
roof scuttle, automatic fire vent or skylight with
minimal reduction in clear opening.
Specification:
The access opening shall be fitted with a
permanently installed fall through prevention net
system that is easily retractable for full access to
the confined space; and, when closed, allows
visibility for inspections and performance of
limited maintenance below the net.
This system shall be a
Hatch Safety Net as manufactured by
U.S.F. Fabrication, Inc. 1-800-258-6873 or approved
equal.
The fall through prevention net system shall consist
of the following components:
Ø
A safety net manufactured from high strength
polyester netting that has been tested and certified
to meet the current OSHA standard 1926.502 (c) (4) (i)
drop test.
Ø
All stainless steel 316 hardware, hooks and anchors.
Ø
A permanently attached metal tag with the following
information: net manufacturer’s name, identification
of net material, date of manufacture, date of
prototype test, name of testing agency, and serial
number.
Installation of the fall through
prevention net system shall be in accordance with
the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
The complete net assembly shall be warranted
against defects in material and workmanship for a
period of one year from the date of purchase.
